Social Documentary Photographer

"Ed Gold is a photographer committed to his craft, one who repeatedly throws himself fully into the lives of those he is documenting with his camera. From the work of British troops in Afghanistan, to the remote communities of Alaska, he gets under the skin of his subject, ensuring his pictures are a true record.

Through his lens you can sense the rapport he has with his subjects who have opened up to him to share their experiences. He is not an outsider dropping in to get a few photos, he’s in it for the long haul.

Gold is also aware that his pictures need context, providing background research alongside his pictures, and quotes from those he meets, all providing a rounded profile of the communities depicted, one that will serve for centuries to come."
